Leadership

Values or a set of beliefs are critical to the success of any individual, leader or business organisation.

Once values are identified and understood, they will influence every aspect of your life or organisation for whom you choose to work.  The foundation of my successful sales, management & leadership career, has been built on five key values – Service, Integrity, Faith, Understanding and Fun.

Christmas Day 1977, I received a special gift from my mother.  A simple Lett’s Boy’s Diary for 1978.  Since then I have kept a daily page a day journal entry.  Consequently, I have built up a reservoir of personal stories and experiences that have helped me to really understand the power of self-awareness and reflection.

We learn to do something, by doing it and central to all of my interventions is action learning.

Ultimately the design and facilitation of workshop sessions, bite sized learning or larger leadership programmes, acts as the agent to enable change.  I work with other like-minded professional consultants on larger programmes when required.

Helping others to develop their leadership and management skills is my personal mantra.  How can I help you?

The key areas of focus in any bespoke workshop may include:

  • Leadership Training
    • How to live real values and succeed in leadership & management
    • Recognising the value of change agility in a VUCA world
    • How can you be successful and have moral courage – do the right thing
    • Why integrity is critical in building relationships of trust
    • Simplifying complex client relationships
    • Understanding the necessity of networking
    • Unlocking the principles of successful selling
    • Why Servant Leadership is so vital

Great leadership is a multiplicity of skills, behaviours and a huge array of models! My job is to act as a guide to help you along your personal or organisational leadership journey.  Every path has its unique challenges step by step, one by one, along the way.

“Life is about creating and living experiences that are worth sharing.”  said Steve Jobs.

We need to talk about what we’re learning. Continuous learning is one of the keys to success in life and helps to build leadership skills.  A phrase I have heard a lot recently during many coaching conversations is that “sharing is caring”. For children, sharing can be a difficult challenge to master, but an important one to learn and carry into adulthood. As a coach and learning facilitator, frequently I share thoughts, ideas and insights to help others meet some of their challenges in the workplace or in their own life to enhance their leadership ability . The knowledge and insights come from my own experiences, personal learning & study, but also what has been shared with me.

In our technology savvy world, we live in an age of sharing. Mark Zuckerberg wrote when setting up Facebook – “I wanted to create an environment where people could share whatever information they wanted, but also have control over whom they shared that information with.”

One aspect of Leadership is all about sharing – “to give a portion of (something) to another or others”. There are some real benefits to sharing:

  1. It builds trust
  2. You feel good
  3. It brings things to life
  4. It creates understanding
  5. It makes things real.

“The key to successful leadership today is influence, not authority.”
Ken Blanchard

Often challenging, often supporting, often driving self-reflection, clear stretching individual and business goals have been set, measured and achieved – all of this using interesting and fun tools to illustrate key areas for improvement. Our relationship with Daryl has proved to be a great asset to our business.”

“Working with Daryl has been an incredibly insightful, helpful and inspiring journey for me.  In each of our coaching sessions Daryl helped me to understand my strengths and worked with me to overcome challenges.  A hugely beneficial investment of time, both personally and professionally.”

“As a personal coach, Daryl was able to uncover weaknesses and help turn them into strengths that could then be translated across the business bringing tangible results.”

“I have found coaching with Daryl to be extremely beneficial and more helpful than any professional course I have ever attended. He creates a very kind and supportive environment to critically analyse issues and come up with tangible new approaches and techniques. His support has helped me to grow as a senior leader and to be more effective in my role.”

“I have been fortunate to work with Daryl as a colleague but more recently as a trainer / coach. Through our sessions Daryl has helped me understand my strengths and identify areas for improvement. I have found him very knowledgeable and very engaging. I would very much recommend his services and will use him for my team going forward”
