Coaching

Management and Executive Coaching is a journey of self-discovery. The process is entirely devoted to you – your issues and the attainment of new behaviour goals.  From the outset the coaching relationship is built on a foundation of mutual respect, trust and confidentiality. Coaching and mentoring are development approaches based on the use of one-to-one conversations to enhance an individual’s skills, knowledge or work performance.

Working face to face, by phone or via Zoom/Skype – a coaching programme will generally involve a series of one to two-hour sessions, over a period of weeks or months to suit your development needs.  Beginning with an initial fact finding exploratory session, starting with where you are and examining what you’d like to do differently and better, identifying any specific challenges of your situation. This also provides an opportunity to determine if there is a good fit between me (the coach) and you.  The content and process for each of the follow-on sessions will be regularly reviewed and an action plan developed to help you achieve the goals set during the process.  These sessions may include insights, current articles from thought leaders, case studies, models and other frameworks that may aid you in seeing your situation and behaviour in a new light.

Some examples of situations where coaching is a suitable development tool include:

  • helping competent technical experts develop better interpersonal or managerial skills
  • developing an individual’s potential and providing career support
  • developing a more strategic perspective after a promotion to a more senior role
  • handling conflict situations so that they are resolved effectively

Coaching and mentoring are now used by employers globally as a widespread development tool.
